Born in South Africa but based in London Kai van Dongen defies the genre boundaries that somewhat govern and control what many young producers will put out at early stages of their career. Kai has been releasing stellar techno, house, acid, electro & more, with little qualms to what may be defined as his sound. Rolling basslines, jacking vocals, crunchy drums & squelchy acid lines are integral in Kai’s output but otherwise don’t define his sound.
2021/2022 has seen a string of Bandcamp exclusive and VA releases from Kai and the launch of his own imprint – KVD which provides an outlet for him to share new music directly to Bandcamp. With a series of releases lined up for 2022/2023 Kai is set to surprise all who have followed his journey so far with a fresh take on his production style, sound and direction.
He has been at the top of his game for over a decade with his trademark groovy techno.
